Neon ... and neutral?

Yes, you heard that right! Today's topic is neon&neutral, a trend that is subtly sneaking its way onto the scene.

I first encountered this oddly captivating combination at Forever 21, in the form of this bra:

Neon yellow with gray lace? That's a combination I did not already own, which made this a very rare bra, which is why I grabbed it right away! The $5.80 price tag helped, too.

But in the back of my mind, I thought it reminded me of something. Cue the latest Victoria's Secret catalog:

Neon orange with beige lace, $58! Now, I'm not going to be so quick to grab this one - but if it was $5.80 like the Forever 21 version? Maybe.

Neon&neutral is definitely a novelty combination, especially in lingerie, so I'd definitely recommend buying the less expensive version in case this trend dies out faster than a celebrity's marriage. Of course, the quality won't be quite the same, but if this becomes a staple item for you, then you could buy the more expensive one!

Free Is Better.

I mention/ link to independent mineral makeup companies a lot, and I know there are lots of women out there who have never tried buying mineral makeup online and might be understandably wary of it.

For that reason, I thought I'd make a list of the companies who offer free samples, which can help you try out both the specific company's item, and mineral makeup in general!

I will be posting this in a tab for easy reference and updating as needed. Let me know if there are other companies you know of with similar sample programs!

Vicious Cosmetics - First sample is free, all you have to do is convo with your address and color choice. When I did this, I actually ended up buying 10 samples in addition to the free one >.< 

Face Candy Couture - Follow them on Twitter, like them on Facebook, and you can get 5 random samples. I understand the owner has been a bit overwhelmed with requests, so it may take a while to get your free samples.

Sweet Libertine - Send a stamped, self-addressed envelope, and you will get 2 random samples in return.

1. My favorite color is purple - any and all shades of purple! I will wear or buy purple items over any others.
