GET THE LOOK: Dolce & Gabbana Spring 2011

Dolce and Gabbana Spring 2011:
SECRET GARDEN

The genius designers at Dolce and Gabbana came up with a spring collection that's both flirty and fun, classy and chic. Mixing prints with prints and a few more prints, soft pastels with crisp red and white, the r
unway looks were playful and perfect for spring.

To get the look (1. Dolce and Gabbana runway show), check out your own closet first! If you have certain basics, like a floral romper
(4. Lucca Couture, $39.99, Urban Outfitters; 5. Botanica Romper, $254, Anthropologie) and a skinny leather belt, you're halfway there. Add in some toweringly high, bright wedges (3. Too Lips Too, $34.99, Sears) and a pastel green jacket or oversized shirt with clean lines (2. Twill Zip Jacket, $148, Free People; 6. Boyfriend Shirt, $48, Victoria's Secret) to complete the look. Bonus points if you can find a tablecloth-print hobo bag like the one pictured - as yet, there are none to be found! Any brightly colored slouchy bag will do if you can't.

So far, the specific colors (that vivid mint green) and prints (red-and-white buffalo check, anyone?) look like they'll be the most difficult to dupe. But it's all subjective; substitute your own favorite oversized plaid, Easter-egg colors, and wild florals to make it your own!

On to the makeup - droolworthy shades of pink, green, and lilac, packaged with luxury in the Secret Garden collection.
If you can't wait for them to be released, or if you'd rather not pay their prices, here are some alternatives!

Up first: The Smooth Eye Color Quad (Dolce and Gabbana, $59). What lovely shades you have, little compact! How lucky that they're eas
ily duped. Try an independent makeup brand like Shiro Cosmetics for close duplicates.

And lastly, the lovely lilac lipgloss in Bon Bon (1. Dolce and Gabbana, $29). Looks pretty unique - but there are other options! Try Fyrinnae's Lip Lustre (2. Fanservice, $4.50, Fyrinnae), NYX Mega Shine Lipgloss (3. African Queen, $3.99, CherryCulture) or MAC Lipglass (4. Ban This, $18, MAC).

Well, there you have it, fashion fans - high-end designer collections are not quite as unique, or as out of reach, as they may seem.

Got any designer dupes of your own? Feel free to post them in the comments below!

Nail Sale at RiteAid

New year, new obsession: Nails!

I'm just now getting into Konad, the nail art stamping system everyone else has been using for a while now, and I wanted to stock up on some bright colors to use in my future nail art designs. When I stopped by RiteAid, I noticed "Buy One Get One 50% Off" signs on almost all their nail polish displays!

Revlon and Wet n' Wild nail polish are excluded from this sale, unfortunately, so if you're still hoping to pick up Perplex, try CVS instead.

I managed to restrain myself and walked out with just 6 nail polishes - for a grand total of $4 with tax! Thank you, RiteAid!

Oh, and my fave from the mini-haul? Sinful Colors "Dream On" - the most droolworthy neon pink-purple I have ever seen!
