Thanksgiving manicure and eye look

For this year's Thanksgiving festivities, I wanted to do something easy and sparkly.

Luckily I still have my sample of Candy Corn glitter from Darling Ghoul Halloween, and the copper, green, and red sparkles seemed fitting for Thanksgiving!

Something I do a lot lately when I'm planning to do a bold liner: I put R.S.V.P. on the lid, pat a matte skin-tone shadow on top, slightly darken the crease, and add a very subtle highlight. That way it's still a really neutral background to the liner, but doesn't look as crappy as my bare skin has been these past few months.

In this case, I then painted on Pixie Epoxy with an angled brush just as I would apply gel liner, and then used the same brush to pat on tons of glitter. And I did the rest of my makeup after cleaning up all the glitter ... which still ended up all over my face, especially in my eyelashes. Oh well, it looked awesome and I was complimented on how cool it looked :) I also smudged dark brown gel liner on the lower lashline and winged it up to just below the glitter line.

My camera battery died right as I was taking those pics, so instead of a face photo, here's the family portrait we took in the backyard right before heading to dinner at my aunt and uncle's house:
Heh. I watermarked my brother. Heh.
It's appallingly low quality and you can hardly even see that I have a face, let alone what's on it, but whatever. In case it's not obvious, that's my parents, brothers and I (and our bear totem pole).

The manicure I did in a rush and despite having had plenty of time to come up with ideas in advance, I still ended up just grabbing a few colors and hoping they'd work well together. You're going to have to click for the closeup on these ones!

To me, it looked like a pile of (sparkling?) fall leaves, but I guess it could also be Christmassy since it's burgundy, green and gold! That's one coat OPI Just a Little Rosti at This, one coat Wet n Wild Cougar Attack, and one coat Sally Hansen Hidden Treasure (which = Essie's new one, Shine of the Times, if you can find it). The color changing aspect of this manicure was so mesmerizing! Hidden Treasure shifts from copper to gold to green, and with the copper glitter underneath it, you could see green flakies and copper glitter all at once and it was glorious. Again, I was complimented, so although this did not wear well at all (chipping and peeling the next day), I'm still really happy with how it came out!

Products used (on my face ... not my nails):
Oh! Also! Thanksgiving was great, even though I ate and drank myself sick very rapidly. Still really enjoyed the party!
